Patient TM has been in the office for years when he decided enough was enough of his un-aesthetic, over spaced teeth with a poor porcelain fused to metal restoration on #8 (his front right tooth). As will any aesthetic case in our office, a diagnostic waxup was done, which lets us know what end result can be achieved before the case starts. This smile design is essential for achieving a nice result. In addition, the temporary restorations allow the patient to see how the final teeth will look in their mouth, and can make any wanted modifications. The temporaries are made from this diagnostic waxup. 14 porcelain fused to metal crowns were done on the top teeth, including bridges. Because the patient required crowns on all of his teeth, he opted for the bridges instead of dental implants, which are another option to replace missing teeth. As presented, with the teamwork of a great laboratory technician and dentist, a beautiful result can be achieved in even the toughest of circumstances.

Biolase Laser, Porcelain Veneers

Patient SM presented for a cosmetic consultation with an extremely gummy smile and mottled, discolored teeth. This case is a great demonstration of our Biolase laser, which can be used to contour the gums, as well as bone if necessary. 2mm of gum tissue was removed above the teeth in order to show more tooth, and less gum. Then, 8 porcelain veneers were done in a natural shade to make the color of the teeth much more uniform.

This international patient came from Moscow to have her teeth done in our office. Our lab technician, who we have been working with for over 20 years, did a waxup of the case. First, the teeth were prepared and temporaries made, which are designed from the waxup. Then, a day later our lab tech comes into the office and a discussion between the patient, the doctor, and the lab technician decides if any changes should be made regarding color, shape, and placement of teeth. Then, 10 upper and 10 lower porcelain laminate veneers were place 3 days after that. The entire process from start to finish was done in less than one week and the patient was on her way back to Russia with a beautiful new smile!

Grinding is a big problem for many of our New York and international patients. Their natural teeth get worn down, and this appears as flat edges of the teeth. This patient previously had two crowns done on the front two teeth to lengthen them; neither matches the rest of the patient’s teeth. 8 porcelain veneers were done on the top teeth, and the result was straighter, uniform, naturally contoured teeth. The veneers restored the teeth to how they looked before the patient began grinding them away years ago, and the result was beautiful!

This gentleman presented with worn teeth that had crack lines, were overly translucent, and with a reverse smile line (the edges of his upper teeth create a downward arch). Using a diagnostic waxup by our fantastic lab technician, 10 upper and 10 lower porcelain veneers were placed in order to give him a whiter, wider, and more beautiful smile. As you can see in the after photo, the edge of his top teeth now curves up following the lip, giving him the proper smile line and an amazing result!

This patient presented with multiple bondings on her front teeth. They were not only visible to the naked eye, but also had repeatedly broken and she was fed up. Bonding stains over time, is extremely hard to color match, and chips. Usually, if they don’t fall off, they need to be replaced every 5-8 years due to color. Veneers, on the other hand, never change color and once bonded, the porcelain is extremely strong. 8 upper porcelain veneers were done to restore her worn down teeth to their original length and luster, as well as a gingivectomy using our Biolase laser to reduce her gummy smile. As you can see, the gums heal beautifully with the laser leaving pink, healthy gums over the teeth.

One of the most common deformities of a tooth is a peg lateral, which is when the tooth next to the middle tooth, the lateral, is very small and misshapen. In this case, the patient had peg laterals on both sides that had been bonded to make them look better. However the bonding is obviously discolored and the teeth are not aligned properly. Using a diagnostic waxup, our lab technician was able bring all the teeth into a natural arch form using 8 porcelain veneers and 2 porcelain jacket crowns on the lateral incisors. The result? The teeth speak for themselves and matching these all to one another is one of the toughest tasks in dentistry!

Many of our patients who come in for cosmetic work had previous work done and are unhappy with the results. This patient had 10 porcelain veneers done elsewhere, and while they made the color nice and white, and the shape is good, they did not broaden the smile and thus the old veneers appear sunken. The final 10 porcelain veneers done by Dr. Linhart have much more characterization of the porcelain, as well as a much broader smile that the old veneers. This result leads to a spectacular smile that looks real!

This patient presented with a bridge that had been done overseas, where the replacement tooth was extremely narrow and very unnatural looking.
As with all of our cosmetic cases, a diagnostic waxup was done and a smile design in order to see what kind of end result could be achieved, even before the case is started! All previous anterior restorations (crowns and bridges) were removed. Then, porcelain veneers were placed on the patient’s natural teeth, and a new porcelain fused to metal bridge was placed on the front teeth.
Unfortunately, there was no space for a dental implant in this case. This gave the patient a beautiful, white, natural smile with properly proportioned teeth. A huge improvement using porcelain that was done in one week!

Patient TW had been a patient in our office for years when he came in stating he wanted to do something about his chipped, dark, and crooked teeth. 10 upper and 10 lower porcelain laminate veneers were done, as well as porcelain fused to metal crowns on multiple posterior teeth. The end result is a natural white smile that restored TW’s teeth to their original, beautiful luster!

This patient presented to our office in midtown Manhattan with an old bonding on #7 (right lateral tooth, blotchy teeth, as well as with her teeth all going in different directions. 8 porcelain laminate veneers were done to whiten her teeth, make the color more uniform, and to align the teeth in a proper arch form. In addition, our Biolase laser was used to bring the gums up above her teeth to reduce the gumminess of her smile. This is especially noticeable on #7 (right lateral tooth) where the gums were very low on the tooth. She was ecstatic with the result!

This longstanding patient of ours had significant erosion of her teeth from a habit of lemon-sucking. In addition, the midline of her top teeth was shifted to her right, creating a tilted smile with short teeth. After a diagnostic waxup was done by our lab technician who we have worked with for over 30 years, 10 upper porcelain veneers were placed. The end result was pearly white, straight teeth in proper alignment that the patient can enjoy for decades to come!

After viewing photographs and discussing the treatment with Dr. Linhart, the patient decided to continue the case in our office. 10 porcelain laminates were done on her top teeth, they are significantly whiter and more brilliant than her previous teeth. In addition, the smile was broadened as to fill the significant dead space she had because of the retro-inclination of her natural teeth. The result was spectacular and the patient was thrilled she had her cosmetic work done with Dr. Linhart!

This patient presented with an open bite due to thumb sucking as a child. The patient’s front teeth did not touch by about 3mm when she bit all the way down. In order to correct this, 10 upper and 10 lower porcelain veneers were done. The only other option to close this open bit would have been orthognathic surgery which involves breaking the jawbone. Needless to say the patient opted for the veneers!

This young lady presented after having 4 years of orthodontics (braces) in a different office without success. After a consultation with our in house orthodontist Dr. Ro, and Dr. Linhart, it was decided that porcelain veneers would be a better option than more braces. 20 porcelain veneers were placed, 10 on the upper and 10 on the lower, and these achieved straight, white, beautiful teeth, in only a few days!

Her natural teeth were yellow and discolored, as well as being misaligned especially on the bottom. In a week, the veneers were completed giving her whiter, brighter, and straighter teeth, she was thrilled!
